These AI Tools Give me an Unfair Advantage Selling on Etsy

I use several AI tools and software that give me an unfair advantage in the Etsy print-on-demand space. Let me explain exactly how they work and how they’ve helped me scale my shop faster and more efficiently.

Gelato: The All-in-One Print-on-Demand Solution

The first tool I rely on is Gelato, a print-on-demand company with built-in product design software. Gelato handles everything from printing designs onto products—like t-shirts, calendars, wall art, tote bags, and greeting cards—to managing shipping and logistics. You don’t need your own printing press, warehouse, or any time-consuming production process. Gelato takes care of it all, including sourcing suppliers, so you never have to worry about stock levels. It’s a game-changer.

When you make a sale, Gelato immediately prints your product, ships it out, and even updates the tracking number on your Etsy order, so your customer can track their shipment while you get paid. The best part? It’s a pay-as-you-go system, meaning you don’t pay anything until you make a sale. This keeps your overhead costs low. If you’re interested, you can try Gelato for free here: https://try.gelato.com/bryan

Trying to scale a print-on-demand shop without a tool like Gelato is like competing in a Formula 1 race with a Toyota Camry—you won’t get far. The competition will outpace you while you struggle with tasks they’ve automated.

Vectorizer: Streamlining Design Creation

The second tool I use is Vectorizer, a software that simplifies design work by removing backgrounds and isolating specific colors. For just $9 per month, this tool saves me dozens of hours each month that I used to spend manually editing designs. It’s a total game-changer.

Thanks to Vectorizer, I no longer need to spend time doing this work myself, nor do I have to pay a graphic designer. I wish I had known about it sooner—it could have saved me hundreds of hours (and thousands of dollars).

ChatGPT: Optimizing Listings and Generating Ideas

To create better listings than my competitors, I use ChatGPT with its built-in DALL-E integration. Here’s how it helps:

  1. SEO and Proven Sellers: When recreating a listing, it’s ideal to analyze the SEO of a successful listing. To find proven sellers on Etsy, you can use tools like Everbee (here's a tutorial: https://youtu.be/WDGQKQqmQmc) or look for shops with well-rated designs. By clicking on their sold items, you can see what’s working for them.

  2. Improving Designs: Take a screenshot of a successful design and ask ChatGPT to recreate it, making it even better. This saves significant time and ensures your design is original while being based on something already proven to sell.

  3. Optimized Listings: ChatGPT can generate well-written, keyword-rich titles, descriptions, and tags in minutes. Simply provide it with a competitor’s listing and ask it to rewrite it with enhanced keywords and better SEO. This approach helps you emulate and improve upon the success of your competition. Optimized listings not only help you rank higher organically but also ensure your ads are more effective. Poorly categorized listings can waste ad dollars on irrelevant search results, so having precise, optimized listings is crucial.

  4. Trending Ideas: ChatGPT can also generate trending and relevant design ideas for products like t-shirts, posters, or cards. It can even create the designs for you. This allows you to have high-quality designs ready in seconds without hiring a designer or spending hours creating them yourself.

Workflow for Efficiency

Once your designs are ready, run them through Vectorizer to remove backgrounds and create transparent PNGs. This takes about 10 seconds per design.

Next, upload the PNGs to Gelato and select the products you want to customize. Gelato guides you through the process, suggesting the best pricing to ensure you cover costs and maintain a profit margin. Their shipping times are among the fastest in the industry, thanks to partnerships with local production facilities, which is especially beneficial for platforms like Etsy and TikTok Shop. You can even automate TikTok Shop dropshipping with Gelato, all from the same account.

These three tools—Gelato, Vectorizer, and ChatGPT—have given me a massive advantage. They save me time, reduce costs, and help me create a large volume of high-quality listings quickly.

And if you want more clarification, here's a full video walk through of how I do all this with these tools...
